According to reports Akshay Kumar was initially approached to play Govinda’s part in Life Partner. Though Akshay Kumar couldn’t do the film as he was busy with 8×10 Tasveer, he was constantly in touch with the makers through the scripting of this film.When Abbas-Mastan and Rumi Jaffery explained that they were at a loss for the movie’s title – Akshay helped them out. After listening to the climax Akshay suggested Life Partner as an appropriate title for the film.
A unit member said, “All these rumours of a rift between Rumi and Akshay are false. Both parted ways amicably”.Director Rumi Jaffery confirms, “It is really funny. I couldn’t believe it. During our conversation, Akshay came up with such a simple title.
We all just loved it”. Life Partner is a story of two couples and their journey through their relationships; while one takes the route of love marriage and the other arrange marriage.
