Celina Jaitley has been missing from the silver screen for quite sometime now, but the sexy lady knows how to stay in news, be it for her cause for homosexuality or her fight against harassments, she keeps herself alive and kicking in the media glare.

Lately, she has been in news for her engagement to Dubai based hotelier Peter Haag. Now, she has had a near death escape to talk about. It so happened that the sultry actress was sleeping in her room when she woke up by the loud and frantic barks of her dog, Gooblee, only to discover that the massive television set in her room had sparked and burst into flames spreading smoke all over the house! To add on to the horror, the screen was just a few inches away from her bed!

The actress proved that she is not only sexy and pretty but also smart enough to use her presence of mind in a life threatening situation. She sprung from her bed and unplugged the main switch thus saving the entire house from burning down.

Celina Jaitley got engaged to Peter Haag!

Blue eyed former beauty queen and Bollywood actress Celina Jaitley got engaged to Dubai-based hotelier Peter Haag.

I have known Peter for the last couple of years.

We met through my family and exchanged numbers but we started dating each other 10 months ago. I was superstitious about my relationship and that’s why I chose not to talk about it.

Except our families, nobody knew we were seeing each other, said the 29-year-old actress, according to mid-day.

Celina Jaitley takes another step to support transgender section

Celina Jaitley’s love and support for gays is quite well-known by now. Now, the actress has taken yet another step in expressing her support for the lesbians. Now, she has decided to hold a pan-India transgender talent contest named V-care Indian Super Queen along with her transgender friend Laxmi Narayan Tripathi. Celina announced this contest recently at a press conference. The final round will take place in Delhi on February 21st and Celina has offered Rs 50,000 to the winner from her side.

Celina went so emotional at the press conference that she even said, “I wish I had taken part in this contest instead of Miss India.” Guys, don’t you think that Celina’s love for the Indian Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) section is going just a bit too far??

Celina Jaitley virgin till marriage

Bold and beautiful Celina Jaitley is not a big mouth but she stands up for what she believes in and is quite vocal about it. The hot actress has stunning answers for questions that normally make females blush.

At a recently held promotional event for her new movie, Accident On Hill Road on TV channel Zoom, Celina gave some of the honest replies you have ever heard from a woman.

 

When asked how sexuality in Indian cinema and in our society has undergone a change, she replied, “I feel sex never changes. Sex is the same, like it was ten years ago, (or) during the Kamasutra days. Even now it’s the same. What has changed is that people want to be politically correct or diplomatic while talking on this subject today.”

 

Later, while facing the obvious question on female virginity, Celina gave a no-holds-barred reply, “Human beings are hypocritical! We all are. Myself included. I am going to call myself a virgin till I get married. As simple as that. Yes, I am hypocritical and every actress who comes here will say the same. So you got to take my word for it.”

Celina Jaitley escaped from death

Celina Jaitley is lucky not only in having a pretty face and an enviable figure but also when it comes to having a hair-breath escape from death. It so happened that while shooting for her South film ‘Sreemati’ opposite superstar Upendra, she faced an accident which could turn out to be fatal had it not been for her luck.

While shooting, the camera buggy was supposed to go past her while she was standing near an outcrop, but unfortunately it swung out of control, toppling Celina who just managed to grab a buggy rung. She lost her grip on that too but the camera assistant Ram Gopal Mishra grabbed her and that saved her.

Celina shudders at the memories and says, “I escaped severe injuries by falling into shallow rocky seas from a great height.

The incident makes the sex kitten a bit philosophical as she says that those who have the blessings and goodwill of others have nothing to worry about.

Celina Jaitley snubs Sambhavana in public!

Everyone knows what a staunch supporter Celina Jaitley is of gay rights. So it wasn’t a surprise that the face of gay movement in Mumbai showed up at the Gay Pride Parade last Sunday. As it seemed, Celina Jaitley was not the only celebrity at the parade. Bhojpuri actress and Bigg Boss 2 star Sambhavana Seth also made her presence felt at the event. However all did not go well for Sambhavana who was walking with a bunch of friends and apparently felt the mob crowding around her. Mid-Day reports a girl then approached Celina Jaitley, who was in the midst of a private security cordon to accommodate Sambhavana Seth too. And Celina refused.

“I am shocked and appalled by Celina’s behaviour. I did not attend the parade to get publicity or hog the limelight. I was there to support my friends and didn’t even bother getting security for myself. I expected Celina to show some respect towards me as woman, if not as a colleague. She denied me entry into her area not once, but thrice,” Sambhavana Seth was quoted by the paper as having said. The Bhojpuri star also claims that after Bigg Boss 2, Celina had once walked up to her and told her how entertaining she was. Interestingly Celina claims to have never known Sambhavana Seth. “I don’t know how she looks like and I didn’t even know she was there so how could I ignore her security.

Also there were enough policemen around to take care of those marching so she could have approached them for help. There was no way any woman could get mobbed or manhandled since it was a gay parade,” she said. Defending her decision to hire security personnel, Celina Jaitley said that she had done so because she had been receiving threats. “If she (Sambhavana) was really concerned about security, she should’ve arranged it for herself,” Celina Jaitley told the paper.

The beauty queen-Celina Jaitley

Celina Jaitley was born in Kabul,Afghanistan on 24 November 1979 to a Punjabi Indian father and Afghan mother. She is an Indian actress and former beauty queen. She was crowned Miss India in 2001.


Celina grew up in several cities, including Lucknow, where she attended City Monetessori school. Celina Jaitley mostly spent her time in Kolkata, India. Jaitley was raised as a Hindu. She has said that when she was young, she wanted to join the army, either as a doctor or a pilot. She graduated with a degree in commerce from Indira Gandhi National Open University.

Jaitley was a finalist in the Miss Universe 2001 contest. In addition to her title of Femina Miss India Universe, Celina has won the Miss Margo Beautiful Skin, Indiatimes Surfer's Choice, and MTV's Most Wanted award.

In 2003, jaitely made her debut in the movie industry with Feroz Khan's Janasheen. In 2007 she flew to New Zealand and shot her first international movie Love Has No Language, a romantic comedy. The actress was said to be traumatized by the experience. She is also going to star in two films Unusual Love Story and One Night for 2009.

Jaitley is slated to play the character of a Persian princess in the film Quest of Scheherezade which will be completed in 2010 along with actors Sean Connery and Orlando Bloom. The film is based on Arabian Nights and will be directed by Ken Khan. This will be Celina's first venture into Hollywood.
