Rajinikanth romancing with Rekha, Vidya and Deepika!: If Endhiran left us with dropped jaws because of its Rajini mania, Rana promises a thrice over treat for Rajinikanth’s fans.

The film will have the south mega star playing three roles and obviously there will be three leading ladies opposite him. From the day the project was announced, speculation has been rife as to who will bag the coveted parts.

Rekha was the first to be named. Deepika Padukone was too busy to commit to the project initially, but walked out of Housefull sequel to take out dates for Rajinikanth. For the third lady, several names were being touted, including the likes of Katrina Kaif and Asin.

But guess what? It’s Vidya Balan who’s learnt to have clinched the role.

The reason for the choice of actresses could be that all three are originally from the south and therefore will have no problem with dialogues.

The movie, to be directed by KS Ravi Kumar, will apparently have Rajini playing an old man, a middle-aged man, and a young man.

Even at 61, Rajini rocks.

Actress Rekha has signed for Rajinikanth’s Animation Movie

Kollywood super star Rajinikanth’s upcoming animation movie Rana. The multilingual film which is made in Kollywood and Bollywood is actually supposed to make use of the concept of live animation. Of later on there were reports stating that Bollywood Actress Deepika Padukone and Asin playing his leading girls, but it is revealed that it’s Deepika who received the offer.

As Super Star is representing triple role in the film, he requires totally 3 heroines it appears.

Based on latest reports Super Star desires to have yester years charm and performing actress Rekha to be one of his leading ladies in the movie. Previously this character was offered to Dance Diva Madhuri Dikshit but she rejected to accept for personal life commitments.

Well it isn’t the first time that Rekha and Rajinikanth are working together. Earlier they were seen in BULANDI, though not as a couple.

Therefore Rekha grants confirmation on her participation in the film, then the problem is who will be the 3rd celebrity to play with this ‘God of South’!

Rekha was born on 10 October 1954 in Tamil Nadu, India. Rekha is a National Film Award-winning Indian actress who has appeared in Bollywood films. Being a versatile actress she's recognised for her willingness to play female-oriented characters, such as that of the school-girl in Khubsoorat and a avenger in Khoon Bhari Maang, both of which earned Rekha the Filmfare Best Actress Award. Rekha's portrayal of a classical courtesan in Umrao Jaan won her the National Film Award for Best Actress.

Rekha has acted in over 180 films in a career that has spanned 40 years. Taking part in both Indian mainstream and art cinema, she has achieved commercial success, as well as critical praise for her performances throughout the years. Rekha's parents were not married. It was during the early 1970s, when she was looking for a footing in the Bollywood film industry. Rekha had various unsuccessful relationships with fellow Bollywood stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Mehra and in 1990 she married Delhi-based businessman Mukesh Aggarwal, who committed suicide in 1991. She was rumored to have been married to actor Vinod Mehra in 1973, but in a 2004 television interview with Simi Garewal she denied being married to him referring to him as a "well-wisher". Rekha currently lives along with her secretary Farzana in her Bandra home in Mumbai.
