Both actors made their acting debut together in Refugee and have been in the industry for years but have only starred together in two films till date.”While Kareena’s manager Zahid denies that she has signed the film, a source close to Abbas Mustan says, “The directors always had Kareena in mind and now they have managed to get Katrina on board too.The film will go on the floors in April and like every Abbas Mustan film, this too will also be shot on a lavish budget at international locations.
The directors are clear about who they want to cast in the film.”The Italian Job (2003) rights are with Studio 18. CEO Sandeep Bhargava of Studio 18 says, “We have the rights of Italian Job. Abbas Mustan are working on the script and will also direct the film. The movie will go on the floors sometime next year.”When asked about the star cast, Bhargava says, “We can’t approach any actors till the script is ready.”Despite several attempts, Abbas Mustan remained unavailable for comment.
Somebody might have opened the Pandora’s box as the release date of London Dreams drew near. Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has received threat calls from an unknown person on his mobile, the actor revealed it on his blog. Big B, who played a genie in his latest rlease Aladin, wrote: “I visit a Muslim dargah and a Hindu temple has been viciously criticised by an unknown element on my mobile. He says it is incorrect of me to do so and that I should never do it again.” Amitabh Bachchan has been paying a visit to the Haji Ali dargah in Mumbai for the past few years.The actor in his reply said: “Well dear man, if you are reading this insignificant little blog of mine, here is what I have to say to you. I am going to do it again and shall continue to do it. And I want to see how you are going to stop me.
If you have the courage and guts com and get me.”Big B, who recently celebrated his 67th birthday earlier this month, said: “I do have his mobile number and I do have a name too. The London Dreams show (to promote Vipul Shah’s film) at the Excel Arena in London got cancelled because of a no-show by artistes and technicians. Says a source, “Intech Image had tied up for the film promotion of London Dreams and had planned a few activities for the promotion of the film. An event had been planned at Excel Arena in London, where Salman Khan, Asin and Ajay Devgn were to participate on October 28 along with director Vipul Shah and music directors Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.Ajay backed out of the event due to prior commitments and Asin didn’t have a valid visa.
It didn’t make sense for just Salman to perform, if the other artistes were not available, so the organisers cancelled the show.”But no one bothered to inform poor Salman about the last-minute cancellation, adds an insider “Salmanbhai came in straight from Dubai where he had gone for a special show of London Dreams. When he landed in London on Wednesday, he learnt that the show had been cancelled! Fortunately, he was anyway supposed to be there for some media interaction so his trip wasn’t entirely wasted.”Vipul Shah says, “We were supposed to do one event in London but we never went ahead with the proposal. Salman has gone only for the media promotion of London Dreams to London. He is there for two days.
S Sabapaty from Intech says, “It’s kind of Mr Vipul Shah to say this but we had organised a show for LD at the Excel Arena but couldn’t gather anyone except Salman to appear on the show so we decided to cancel it. In the original agreement, we had advertised in the publicity posters that the cast and crew of LD would attend and the event would be held in the form of a concert.But the cast and crew who were to perform couldn’t make it because of the problems they had. We can’t cheat the audience so we decided to cancel the show.”
Apparently, Salman was informed at the last minute? “No, he was informed about it earlier and he was on his way to London in any case for media stuff. We got a great response for the show but had to cancel it due to technical issues. As a company, we have to maintain our reputation so we took the call to cancel the show on October 28.” Salman Khan remained unavailable for comment.
Just before the release of her film New York, Bollywood’s numero-uno actress, Katrina Kaif had visted the holy ‘dargah’ (shrine) of the revered sufi saint, Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (Katrina visits Ajmer to bring luck to New York!- June 24). While on that occasion she had worn a blue scarf to hide herself from the media glares as well as her fans, this time it was a yellow one!
As per sources, Katrina was in Ajmer yesterday (Friday) to pray for the success of her friend Salman Khan’s London Dreams and also her upcoming, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. Before proceeding to the shrine, Katrina briefly halted at RTDC’s Khadim Tourist Bungalow in Ajmer and changed her dress. She then left for the ‘dargah’ but despite all the secrecy, she was unable to hide herself from the media and her fans (just like last time!) who got a whiff of her arrival and thronged the shrine, thus blocking the roads to the ‘dargah’.

The Power couple of Bollywood Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor today addressed the ongoing Hindustan Times Leadership Summit. Addressing the summit, duo replied a volley of questions including their personal life, professional life and future plans.On marriage plan, Saif Ali Khan said that there is no rush to get married at this moment. Kareena backed the statement of Saif.
Saif said, “I first saw Kareena when she was 14 year-old.” Saif said that he was interested in cricket for long time but finally switched the gear towards cinema.He confessed that he has had 17 flops in a row. On the other hand, Kareena also responded positively to various questions.When asked about her size zero figure, Kareena said, “I was never size zero.” “I am what due to body of my work not due to body,” she replied.

When Kareena Kapoor dated Shahid Kapur, she boldly accepted and like other actresses she did not name their relationship as friendship and now that she has broken up with him and dating Saif Ali Khan, she declared the world that she is in love with Saif. But when news is doing the rounds that Shahid Kapur’s father Pankaj Kapur is penning a script keeping Kareena Kapoor in mind, Bebo openly declared that she is no more in touch with Shahid. Boney wanted to re-create the magic with the same star cast, but director Prabhu Deva suggested that they change the female lead and rope in the south siren Nayanthara instead of Ayesha Takia.
Interestingly, Prabhu Deva’s affair with the actress is painting the gossip columns red down south. In fact, just a few weeks back, Prabhu’s wife had come out all guns blazing at Nayan in an interview to a local daily there warning Nayanthara to keep away from her husband.

At a time when even established actresses are resorting to skin show to grab big deals and projects, Asin, the new comer from South, is very particular about the fact that she will never go for roles which demand vulgarity and exposing.
“I would never do something that is baseless, vulgar and indecent… something I am not comfortable doing and therefore can’t do justice with,” Asin said.
She also added that her criteria for selecting films include script, role, director, producer and then co-artist. “Language or financial issues never determine what film I want to do,” she said.

A new trend has been set by Farah Khan’s chat show ‘Tere Mere Beach Main’, where stars auction their personal items for charity.
Superstar Salman Khan donated his famous yellow towel from ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ autographed by him. He also jived to the popular track of ‘Jeene ke hain chaar din’ with this towel on the show. The towel has been bought by a fan for a whopping 1 lakh. All the proceeds of the celebrity memorabilia auctions will benefit the NGO SNEHA (Society for Nutrition, Education and Health Action).
Again, the Kolkata-based Riddhi Nair, a 33 year old housewife, decided to bid for Olympic gold-medalist Vijender Singh’s boxing gloves auctioned on the show because she was moved by the way his mother brought him up. She spent Rs.17,800 for the item and says she will treasure it like “heirloom” forever.
“I happened to see the repeat telecast of ‘Tere Mere Beach Mein’ where Vijender’s mother spoke about how she never bought a new sari for herself for a long time so that she doesn’t have to compromise on her son’s training. It left me very emotional.
“I was touched to see his rising - from a remote village to being a world champion. It’s very thought provoking. It is the perfect example for my daughter that she must always do something big in life,” said Nair.
Nitin Jain, a 39-year-old investor, bid for Priyanka Chopra’s autographed Gavin Maguel designer dress auctioned on Farah’s show and paid Rs.50,000 it.
“Recently, there were several items that were auctioned on ‘Tere Mere Beach Mein’ - the chat show on STAR Plus. We had bid for many of them and were, in fact, the second highest bidders for Bipasha Basu’s shoes. But my daughter is a Priyanka Chopra fan - so she also wanted it,” said Jain, who is based in New Delhi.
Other items sold through the show include Shahid Kapoor’s cap for Rs.28,500, Kareena Kapoor’s blue dress for Rs.22,300, Yusuf Khan’s cricket bat for Rs.60,750, at all.
It was a very touching moment at 55th National Awards Ceremony as daughter Sonam Kapoor stepped up to accept the award on behalf of dad Anil Kapoor and veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra accepted prize for his son Aditya Chopra.
Aditya Chopra’s ‘Chak De! India’ was named the best film in overall entertainment for 2007, while actor-producer Anil Kapoor was given the special jury award for his film Gandhi, My Father.
Others in the award list include Prasoon Joshi for the best lyricist award for the song ‘Maa’ from ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and Shankar Mahadevan who won the prize for the best male playback singer for the same song. Shreya Ghoshal received the best female playback singer award for ‘Yeh Ishq Hai’ from ‘Jab We Met’. She also performed on this number at the ceremony.

The Roshans had already celebrated Hrithik’s mom Pinky Roshan’s birthday on October 22, by having a quiet dinner party at a Juhu restaurant, but this time Hrithik Roshan was in a mood for lavish celebration and he threw a big bash for mom Pinky Roshan’s birthday and all the prominent celebs from the Bollywood fraternity were invited including SRK-Gauri, Saif-Bebo, Shilpa-Raj, Genelia, Sonali, Kunal Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar amongst others. It was a touching moment when Sanjana Jon, the sister of jailed fashion designer Anand Jon, broke down during the show organized by her at the ongoing Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week. The show was a tribute to her brother, who has been sentenced to 59 years in prison.
The showstoppers for Sanjana Jon’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection show at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion week were brother duo Salman Khan and Sohail Khan, sister duo Raima and Riya Sen, and brother-sister duo Sushmita Sen and Rajiv Sen. Sarod maestro Aman Ali Khan and Ayan Ali Khan also showcased the creation by the designer.

The promotional stunts for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani have kick-started and soon the ghazab jodi of Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor will be gracing your TV screens.
Not only that, the hot couple will also walk the ramp together to promote the film at the FDCI Fashion Week 2009. Designer Rohit Bal has roped in them to mark the show’s grand finale and they will be the ‘ultimate’ showstoppers.
Recently, the duo have shot for a TV show and as per reports, the awesome twosome also share an amazing chemistry off screen. Ranbir was his usual coy self, flirting in front of the camera, while demure Kat continued giggling as the blush on her cheeks was obvious.

Blue director Anthony D'Souza has been hit by a bolt from the blue.
Even before the release of his directorial debut, D’Souza had been speaking about doing his second film with John Abraham. The director was so vocal about his desire to work with John that he all but confirmed the star’s presence in not just one but two of his forthcoming films - ‘Aerial’ and ‘Blue 2’.
Meanwhile, John is amused that D’Souza is chalking out plans of doing films with him without even having any discussions.
While D’Souza must have thought that after the good run of ‘Blue’, John would be game to work with him, the actor has now dashed the director’s big claims by diplomatically stating that he’s not signed any film with him.
“I have immense respect for Anthony...however, I am neither doing any film titled Aerial nor any underwater film. I am also not doing Blue 2,” John is quoted as saying by a tabloid.
Meanwhile, the buzz is that Anthony wants to reprise the cast of ‘Blue’ in the film’s sequel as well.
Thousands of fans lined up to get the advance booking of Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s film London Dreams at a multiplex in Delhi when they came to know that the man selling the tickets is none other than Salman Khan, the leading star of the film.
For the film, set to release this Friday, Salman participated in a unique promotional campaign, when he took the seat on the ticket-selling counter at a multiplex in Daryaganj, Old Delhi.
Though the film’s other star Ajay Devgan was missing, Salman handled the promotional event all by himself. As fans jostled in the queue and many of them did not leave the ticket window until Salman shook hands with them, the superstar obliged his admirers with his distinct charm and wit.
Some fans even asked for the star’s autograph while buying the tickets; other clicked his snap on their cellphones.
The fan frenzy got out of hand at times and the police had to discipline the crowd now and then. But Salman was enjoying it all. He always responded when fans spoke to him and told them to go and watch the film with their family.
‘London Dreams’, set for release this Friday, has Salman playing a talented musician from Punjab. The movie is a story of two friends who drift apart because one of them gets fame and the other does not. Asin plays the duo’s common love interest.

After exchanging the engagement ring with her London-based businessman boyfriend Raj Kundra in Mumbai on Saturday, actress Shilpa Shetty has already begun plans for her wedding.
The 34-year-old beauty, who catapulted to international fame after winning the ‘Big Brother’ show in UK, is learnt to have roped in fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani to design her wedding trousseau.
Though Shilpa wore a dazzling sari by Manish Malhotra on her engagement day, she chose Tarun for her wedding because he’s popular for traditional, ethnic Indian wear, including lehengas and saris.
Just last year, Shilpa was the showstopper for Tarun’s fashion show at the HDIL India Couture Week where she wore a heavy lehenga choli that had intricate work on it.
Tarun admits he’s been asked by Shilpa to design her wedding dress, but he refuses to reveal what he plans to create for the actress.
“I can't talk about the details of the outfits but I can tell you that she will look absolutely stunning,” Tahiliani told a news agency on the sidelines of his show at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) on Saturday.
When asked if he would design Shilpa’s dresses for the mehendi and sangeeth ceremonies as well, Tarun gave a terse reply.
“I'll design everything!” he said without elaborating.
Rumours are abuzz that Shilpa and Raj might tie the knot either by the end of this year or early next year.
Asin, is celebrating her birthday today (October 26).
She is under tension as her second release in Bollywood London Dreams is opening on Friday October 30 worldwide. She is now on five city promotional tour for the film.

Kareena Kapoor has done her most daring and steamy scene yet with beau Saif Ali Khan in Karan Johar’s Kurbaan. The first lot of pictures of her bare back and her liplock with Saif are part of the film’s initial promotions, and the reactions are flying in. Although Kareena thinks it is much ado about nothing, “Not once did I feel awkward while shooting any scene for the film. It’s always easier to shoot for romantic and passionate scenes with someone you are dating, because of the comfort level. Also I am very close to Rensil D’Silva (the director) while Karan is like family and I trusted them completely. I knew whatever they shot would come out very classy.And the poster proves that.”She goes on to say that she and Saif both love the poster, “Everything is symbolic including Saif’s wound and my wet hair — it represents passion, sensuality and emotional violence.

There is a new guy in Amrita Rao’s life. His name is Vishal Malhotra, and incidentally, he acted with her in her first film, Ken Ghosh’s Ishq Vishk, where he played the role of Shahid Kapoor’s friend. They became friends on the sets. It is learnt that they have been dating for some time now. They have been going to events but make solo entries and exits. They can’t go public with their relationship as her family doesn’t approve. When asked about his bonding with Amrita, Vishal says, “I won’t use the usual cliché that Amrita and I are just good friends. I also admit that we are extremely close and she’s one of the most special people in my life. I can’t define my relationship with Amrita. We do hold a special place for each other. I am not ashamed about my relationship with her but to talk beyond that wouldn’t be fair to her. We are both in different phases and places in life. I am still trying to get a foothold in films.”Vishal adds, “Amrita and I started out together with Ishq Vishk and have kept in touch. We spend as much time together as we can. Recently Vishal was seen hosting TV reality show Perfect Bride with Rao (the mentor). “I was doing the show and came again for one episode. In fact, Amrita was to do just one episode for PB but the show is such great fun that I forced her to do more.”Vishal also co-hosted Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega with Mona Singh, and now he wants to concentrate on films. “I don’t have a family backing to get me lead roles, and so I am looking at doing strong character roles with good filmmakers.” When asked about Vishal, Amrita says, “Vishal is a dear friend of mine since Ishq Vishk days.
