Tulip Joshi is a Bollywood actress who was born on 11 September 1979. She has also worked in several Punjabi movies. Her mother was an American and Father was a Gujarati. She was born in Mumbai. She graduated in food science and chemistry. She also excelled in sports, competing in athletics at the National level. Her sister Monalisa is married to Bollywood actor Rajat Bedi. .
Tulip’s glamorous career began when she entered the Femina Miss India in 2000. She did not make it to victory of the final winners but was surely noticed by many advertising agencies. After that she appeared in a number of advertisements for big brands like Ponds, Pepsi, Siyaram, BPL, Smirnoff etc. She also appeared in a video made as a tribute to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Her career in movies began by a chance. She was actually a friend of the bride of Aditya Chopra. The Chopras noticed her at their wedding and asked her to appear for an audition. The audition proved lucky for her as she was soon selected for the movie “Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai.”
Tulip Joshi was not fluent in Hindi and neither was she good at acting so she trained in Hindi diction and in acting at Feroze Khan’s studio. She was also given the advice of changing her name to a more Hindi one. So she chose the name Sanjana. Her debut movie was quite successful and earned praise also but Tulip’s acting was not satisfactory. After a two-year hiatus, she reappeared in Matrubhoomi - a dark film about a futuristic world with almost no women.
She was appreciated in this movie and Tulip was now able to establish her credibility as an actress. Her movie Dhoka also won her some recognition. Another movie of Tulip is Dil Maange More with Shahid Kapoor, Ayesha Takia and Soha Ali Khan. Now a days the cute actress is busy doing her Punjabi flicks.
